"I'm hungry Mommy!"... exclaimed my 10 year old. I was distracted and didn't realize it was lunch time. Out of bread, the teenagers in my house are like wild animals, I quickly thought of whipping up some pasta. I offered my hungry child some Macaroni and cheese only t...

If I had to choose a rice to eat forever, this would be it. I have never in my life eaten a better tomato rice than my mother's. In Portugal this rice is usually served alongside all sorts of fried fish dishes. It just pairs so beautifully with it. Next time you make f...

CATIA CASTRO

ABOUT

"FOR ME, COOKING IS SO MUCH MORE THAN FEEDING. IT IS A RITUAL, IT IS LOVE AT IT'S PUREST. WHEN I COOK FOR YOU, MY SOUL IS ON THAT PLATE."

Hi, I'm Catia, but you can call me Kat. I am a Portuguese girl raised in America and currently living in West Sussex, England. Don't be surprised to find me blogging about furniture placement, hosting, entertaining, lighting, and ambiance. I have a slight obsession with all things leopard. Naturally creative, I need a constant outlet, be it with decorating, DIY projects, or cooking.  I started blogging as a way to keep my recipes archived for my kids and

daughter in law. I started the Purple Door Supper Club as a hobby and it has just evolved into so much more.  I hope you enjoy my site. Here you will find amazing recipes with no distinct flavour. Good food, made from the best ingredients, with a definite Portuguese accent. Decorating tips and tricks, DIY projects and currently, the before and after of our new home.

Thank you for stopping by, see you soon XOXOXO
