I discovered Sazon whilst growing up in Hartford. My Puerto Rican friends all used it and I soon was hooked. I discovered that those little magic spice packets ( sold most popularly by Goya) did so much to add colour and flavour to my Portuguese dishes. It isn't spicy. It is all the latin flavours you know in one very convenient 1- 1/2 tsp. packet. All the spices and herbs used lend themselves beautifully to my Mediterranean cuisine, only downside is that it is loaded with salt and MSG! So, when I moved to the UK, I learned I could make my own Sazon....without the extra nasties. Here is my recipe for the little packet of magic...aka Sazon! Enjoy XOXOXO
